Matt Harkenrider is a pop powerhouse, born and raised in sunny San Diego, CA.

His music combines the unabashed fun of dance-pop with rock & roll, for a feel-good and high-energy explosion of sound. He cites “putting all his favorite artists in a blender” to create to his “sound” (with his inspiration being as varied as Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, Bob Seger, Little Mix, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey and many more).

As an enthusiastic member of the 2SLGBTQIAP+ community, Matt is a proud gay man. But it took a minute to get there — and his music speaks directly to this journey, with themes of self-love, empowerment, and (most importantly!) a really good time. All can relate to the uplifting messages, and revel in the unabashed joy of his art.

Matt and his world-class band regularly perform up and down the West Coast. They have headlined such legendary venues as the Whisky a Go Go, the Troubadour, and the main stages of the San Diego Pride Festival and South Bay Pride Festival, and can currently be seen every month at the legendary Viper Room in Los Angeles, with a hit residency on the Sunset Strip where Matt also features other up-and-coming queer artists.

The infectious and tongue-in-cheek “Cruising” leads off Matt’s latest album, arriving in full later this year.

Matt is honored to be a part of the Eastern Sierra Pride Festival for the first time, and promises a rolicking time you will not want to miss!
